Tear Trough Treatment
Undereye hollowing between the lower eye lid and the cheek is also known as a tear trough. With age not only does our bone disintegrate but also our ligaments become weaker and consequently our fat pads droop causing mouth to nose lines, downturned mouths, jowls and the undereye hollows.
The tear trough is a delicate area and you should ensure your injector is skilled and insured to perform this advanced technique. Dermal filler beautifully softens the hollowing and hence provides a pleasing aesthetic result. Not everybody is suitable for tear trough filler treatment. You will need to have a consultation to assess your suitability as in some cases dermal filler can have a weighing effect within this treatment area. This would be discussed further during consultation. Dermal filler suitable for tear trough must be thin. A thick product could potentially cause an unpleasing aesthetic outcome and the potential for compressing blood flow and lymphatic drainage would be higher risk with a thicker product. Treatment lasts 9-15 months and prices £400 for 1ml.
